bitTidy help
For iPhone and iPad.
Start your first cleanup
Open bitTidy and choose Photos access when prompted. Full Access lets you review the whole accessible library; Limited Access includes only the items you select. Open Duplicates to scan, or use Swipe to make decisions one item at a time. A scan and browsing results are free. Cleanup, compression and organization require bitTidy Plus.
Open a duplicate group to compare photos. The suggested keeper is a starting point, not a guarantee that it is your preferred picture. Check every selection before continuing. Bulk duplicate selection leaves favorites out; manually selecting a favorite can still include it for deletion. Swipe choices can be undone before committing the review.
Choose the cleanup action, review the selection, and confirm the system Photos prompt. Buying a membership does not automatically perform the pending cleanup. Return to the review and confirm when you are ready.
Why don't I see all my photos?
Check Settings in bitTidy for your Photo Library permission. With Limited Access, update the selection of allowed photos through the system Photos access controls. With access denied, open iOS Settings and allow Photos access for bitTidy. Restricted access may be controlled by Screen Time or device management.
Exact-resource scans and file-size checks work with media available locally and do not request iCloud downloads. Cloud-only items can therefore be skipped or show an unavailable size. Opening a preview can ask Photos to retrieve media through iCloud. If a preview fails, try opening that item in Photos with a working connection and return to bitTidy. A limited library or a library still downloading can produce fewer results; this does not prove your entire library has no duplicates.
Recover photos or understand storage totals
Open Photos and find Recently Deleted. Follow Apple's current instructions there to recover an item while it remains available. Deleting an item in bitTidy does not guarantee that free disk space rises immediately: Recently Deleted, iCloud storage optimization and system accounting can affect the number shown. Do not empty Recently Deleted until you are sure you no longer need those items.
If you cancel the system deletion prompt, review remains available. Check Photos before repeating an action after an error, especially when only some operations completed. Keep the original when uncertain.
Compress photos and videos safely
Choose the compression tool and a setting, review the estimate, and create the replacement. The original is kept until you separately choose and confirm its removal. Compression can change visual quality, file format and metadata supported by that format. An already efficient file may have little or no useful size reduction. If bitTidy cannot safely finish saving or removal is declined, keep both copies until you review the recovery choices. For irreplaceable originals, maintain your own backup before cleanup.
Convert a Live Photo to a still
The replacement is a still photo and does not include the original's motion or audio. Review the saved still before choosing whether to remove the Live Photo. Keep the original if motion, edits or metadata are important to you. This article remains a draft until the final paired Live Photo workflow passes device testing.
Restore, manage or cancel bitTidy Plus
Eligible Apple Accounts may start a 7-day free trial when the offer is available. After the trial, the selected annual or weekly membership is billed at the price shown before purchase. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. Apple determines eligibility; switching plans in the same group does not grant another introductory offer.
Use Restore purchases in bitTidy Settings while signed in to the Apple Account used to subscribe. An expired or revoked subscription does not unlock cleanup. If a purchase is pending approval, wait for Apple to complete it; browsing remains available.
Use Manage subscription in Settings, or open Apple's subscription settings at https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions to manage renewal or cancellation. Removing bitTidy does not itself cancel a subscription. Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests; visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com/ for a refund request. Restoring a purchase never deletes media automatically.
Privacy, reminders and support
Photo analysis is performed on your device. No bitTidy account is needed. Optional cleanup reminders use local notifications and can be disabled in Settings. System Photos/iCloud and App Store services operate under Apple's policies. See https://pocketbitsllc.com/privacy-policy/ for Pocket Bits' policy.
Contact support@pocketbitsllc.com with the app version, device, iOS version and steps that reproduce the issue. Review any screenshot or attachment before sending it; do not send private photos, payment details or passwords. The in-app feedback composer includes app version/build, OS version and device model for you to review before sending.
