For Battery Medic 1.2. Earlier versions can have different settings and behavior.
A battery reading is missing or changes
Available readings depend on the Mac, battery and macOS. Open Battery details and choose Refresh. Capacity is a battery-reported estimate and can fluctuate. Battery Medic cannot diagnose battery failure or restore worn capacity. Contact Apple for hardware or service concerns.
Remaining time is missing, shows a dash or says AC
Time appears only when macOS provides an estimate. It can be unavailable while charging, on external power or while the system is estimating. Battery Medic does not invent a fixed runtime estimate.
I did not receive an alert
- Keep Battery Medic running. It cannot send alerts while closed or while the Mac is asleep.
- In Settings, choose Allow notifications if needed.
- Check Battery Medic in System Settings → Notifications (System Preferences on macOS 12). Allow alerts and review Focus settings.
- Choose Send test alert to check permission and presentation.
Low alerts need a known reading at or below your threshold while on battery power. Charged-to alerts need external power at or above the threshold. Unchanged readings do not repeatedly trigger alerts; the battery state must recover before another threshold event is eligible.
A recommendation is for an installed app
Battery Medic checks a fixed set of Pocket Bits app identifiers through macOS. This detects installation, not purchase history. More Pocket Bits tools distinguishes opening an installed app from viewing a paid app. Recommendations can be dismissed; no purchase is needed for battery features.
There are no readings on my Mac
Readings require a MacBook with a built-in battery. A desktop Mac or unavailable battery source shows an unavailable state. Contact us if your MacBook has a battery but no readings appear after reopening the app.
